He studied painting and architecture at the \u201cEscuela de Bellas Artes\u201d (1937-1941) in Quito.<br \/>In 1941 Andrade moved to Manab\u00ed with the sole purpose to paint, and by the end of this year he had completed a collection of oil paintings, and portraits using the \u201cpen and ink\u201d technique, which he had previously mastered. He presented his first exhibition in Manab\u00ed at the Hall of the \u201cCasa de la Cultura\u201d and soon after that, he returned to Quito to join the team at the \u201cPlan Regulador\u201d assigned
